Information we collect and how we collect information
You may be asked to provide personal information on various pages of this website. For example, this may include us asking you for specific details for the purpose of registering for a user account or providing the functionality for you to contact us via email. The types of personal information we may collect include your name, practice address, email address, phone number, Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) number, and copies of qualifications if you are a medical practitioner with a Fellowship (FRANZCOG) or Advanced Diploma (DRANZCOG Advanced) of RANZCOG.

We collect this information for our purposes, which include:

  • confirming your qualifications as a medical practitioner or pharmacist;
  • ensuring that we have contact details especially your email to advise you of any future changes to the approved prescribing or dispensing information, regulatory approval, or Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS) approval for Mifepristone Linepharma and MS-2 Step (mifepristone, misoprostol);
  • maintaining a database of certified prescribers and certified dispensers held on the MS-2 Step website and providing access to such database to certified prescribers and certified dispensers only;
  • responding to your questions and feedback;
  • contacting you for the purposes of customer service and/or relationship management; and
  • contacting you for the purposes of marketing related activities and promotions. You can opt out from these at any time.

In some instances we may ask healthcare professionals to provide information about their patients. Where this is not done in a de-identified manner, we require the healthcare professional to provide a copy of or a link to this Privacy Policy and obtain the prior consent of their patient via the printed ‘consent to treatment’ form before providing the information to us. We deal with this patient information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

Consequences of not providing personal information
Failure to provide us with certain personal information can mean that we will not be able to certify you to prescribe or dispense and we may not be able to provide the relevant service to you or the individual concerned.

Disclosing personal information
Your information may be disclosed by us to other companies within the Marie Stopes International group of companies in Australia in order to assist us in the delivery of our services. Your information may also be disclosed to third party organisations (which have contractual and commercial-in-confidence agreements with MS Health) for the purposes of assisting us to comply with Australian regulatory requirements.

Unless otherwise required or permitted by law, we will not further disclose your personal information to any other third parties (i.e. other than those within the Marie Stopes International group of companies, those we have contractual and commercial-in-confidence agreements with or the TGA) without first obtaining your consent.

Storing personal information
Personal information obtained from you via this website is stored on an external server. The security of personal information is important to us and we take reasonable steps to protect it from misuse or loss and from unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. Some of the ways we do this include:
